Unfortunately I have to agree with 99% of the other reviews out there: while the common route was great, the individual routes are so rushed and shallow that they ended up retroactively spoiling the experience for me. I also don't agree with the message of creation above all else and think the writer ended up contradicting himself in Aisa's Bad End After - if there's an ending where Aisa finishes AS's scenario, survives and goes on to regain her will to create (even if that does take many years), how could you say the original ending where she dies is the happy end? Even if she doesn't get her creative drive back, she ends up finishing the game either way. She can always find some other purpose in life; how is death the better option??

I have other gripes too, like how Yumemi's existence felt more like a side character (and I think Yuina would have been more deserving of a route - where's my fandisc?). Kiriha was amazing though and I loved how central of a role she played in every route. Tsunderes forever, truly best girl and my main heroine.

I didn't like Saki's route as I was reading it, but having finished the rest of the game I can now say it was far and away the best. Despite finding it very long and repetitive, it was the only route that took the game creation theme seriously. I was also severely disappointed by the twist in Kokoro's route - I don't like it when a work that's been grounded in reality the whole time suddenly takes a turn into the supernatural.

P.S. props to the voice actors and scenario writers for pulling off some uncomfortably realistic verbal arguments and nearly giving me an ulcer every time Saki and Kokoro were on screen and this theme started playing

A creator-focused work about making games that actually sticks to the theme! Did an excellent job of filling the saekano-shaped hole in my heart, to the extent that I actually purchased a physical copy of the game. Very funny and filled with lots of anecdotes about the industry. I've tried a couple of Romeo's works over the years but this is the first one I've actually enjoyed - I understand a bit of the hype now. Teruha's route was definitely the best, though Kuroda was my favourite character. I also want to check out the anime adaptation at some point.

Unfortunately it doesn't run at all on Windows 11, so I had to download a Windows 7 emulator and install it there.
